Yeddo — Funeral services for Mrs. Goldie Askren Flowers, age 62, a native of the Yeddo community and sister of W. O. Askren of Covington Rt. 2, who died Friday morning, Aug. 9, were held Sunday afternoon, Aug. 11, at the Bedino Chapel of the Valley in West Terre Haute. Burial was in the Snoddy Cemetery, southeast of Perrysville. Born Oct. 15, 1900 near Yeddo, she was the daughter of William K. and Rhodialla Kesner Askren. She was married to Oscar Flowers about 1920 and he survives. Mrs. Flowers had resided at New Goshen about 30 years and prior to that at Cates. Survivors include her husband, four sons, Lemmie, Billy and Charles, all of New Goshen, and Jack of Houston, Tex.; a daughter, Mrs. Lena Walter of Charleston, Ill.; two brothers, W. O. Askren of Covington Rt. 2, and John of Blackwell, Okla.; three sisters, Mrs. Belle Fisher of Veedersburg, Mrs. Mary Holycross of Cayuga, and Mrs. Mamie Allen of Cates; and several grandchildren; three stepdaughters, Mrs. Harold Goodwin and Mrs. Madeline Burgett, both of Terre Haute, and Mrs. Marion White of Newport. She was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.  --typed by Walt W
